A HISTORY OF INGENUITY
1987
Kelbrand CAM's roots originated in 1987 when Grant Renda worked in a family run electrical business - Renda Electrical, a company which was prominent in the switchboard manufacturing, petrochemical, HVAC and commercial refrigeration industry for over 34 years.
In 2001 Grant obtained his master installation electrical license.
Beginning in 2006 Renda Electrical took over the switchboard manufacturing section of the business while Grant Renda started his own company - Kelbrand Electric.
During this time due to his fascination with robotics & automation he started building what would become Kelbrand CAM's first cnc router which was sold and is still operating up to this day.
2006
During this time, some of our early machines were built for the signage division - mainly used for engraving labels used on electrical switchboard panels.
Kelbrand's focus eventually shifted solely to designing and manufacturing of their cnc machines.
2017
In 2017 Grant's son - Brandon Renda joined the team.
Together they continued to improve the design of their cnc machines as well as develop new features and add-ons to these systems.
Kelbrand CAM introduced it's first CNC Plasma table in 2020 - adding to the already well established line of products.
2023
In 2023, due to the increase in the demand for the diverse range of cnc products we offer, Kelbrand CAM purchased the factory unit next door.
This allowed us to extend our manufacturing capabilities and fuel our growth for expansion. More floor space also allows us to expand on our existing product range.
We are currently in the process of purchasing another factory for the same reasons.
Fast forward to 2024, Kelbrand CAM still maintains the same goals ;
-
Strive for the highest customer satisfaction
-
Maintain top quality and reliable locally manufactured products
-
Local support to keep customers up and running for years to come
Our cnc router machines are manufactured in Cape Town at our factory in Killarney gardens. We build the machines from the ground up using only top quality materials and state of the art equipment within the customer deadline.
We are now in the process of expanding - Kelbrand CAM has purchased a second factory next door from our currently owned premises and are currently in the process of acquiring a new factory to keep up with the demand for our cnc products and services.
